What is the Craft of Intarsia?
Intarsia is the art of shaping and assembling individually cut pieces of wood into a complete composition. Each element is formed and placed with care, allowing the natural grain and colour of the material to guide the final image.
Mike Williams is a wood artisan finding beauty in everything around him. Since a young age, Mike developed an appreciation for craftsmanship and the natural world—two influences that continue to shape his life today. After a decade of working as a professional furniture maker in New Zealand, it was the wild landscape of North America that called him home.
